Our Blessings

N and T ~ October, 2006
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.Psalm 127.3-5

Our precious baby girl, baby S, was born on August 21, 2007. She is our long awaited miracle baby, a special gift from our Heavenly Father.

"N" ~ aka. Bubby, Bubba, Bub & Sugarbear ~
N is our first born, a naturalist who enjoys outdoors exploration, and "Adventure!", as well as being home - often exclaiming "There's just nothing like coming home!" He loves Jesus and reading his favorite Picture Bible. I'll often find him snuggled up with it on the couch, to which he's exclaimed, "I just can't help it! This is so interesting"!
He enjoys learning history, storytelling (narrations), science experiments and recently math as well (which he fondly refers to as his brain exercises). He dreams of being a husband and father, an architect, biologist, engineer, policeman, or fireman, but says most likely, he'll be an archaeologist or a Marine. (He has an uncle that was a Marine, and our 84yo neighbor was a decorated Marine pilot who flew in WWII, Vietnam and Korea, full of stories that have made quite an impression!):-) During Hanukkah one year, he declared that he'd like to name his own son Judah Maccabee. *heh!* ...telling, don't ya think?
He's a very logical thinker, with a bent for philosophy. Though he sees things in black and white, he's very sensitive to others, and has his Mommy & Daddy's soft-heartedness. He has a strong sense of justice, and a keen desire to "help other people." He's also a great chef, and enjoys cooking shows! He enjoys target-shooting, woodworking, dreams of getting a "Viper 90" 4-wheeler and looks forward to going camping with the whole family, and hunting with his Dad. N likes to watch nature, history and cooking shows on tv.
He's also a little gentleman, always rushing to open the door for me, and extending me his hand to help me out of our vehicles, both loving acts of service he's proud to perform. He's becoming a skilled horseman, working on a local farm doing "barn chores" to help to pay for his riding lessons. He's also been taking tap dancing classes for the past two years (says he likes it as much as soccer!) and also dances with me at home alot (to praise and worship music). He's decided that he'd like to play basketball next year, as well as continuing with tap. He *usually* plays beautifully with his sister, whom he adores. I've woken up many mornings to him cooking breakfast, or quietly snuggled up, reading storybooks to his sister. How I adore my *Sugarbear*.
We love him, he truly is "a gift from God" (the Hebrew meaning of his name).

Bub has started his own blog here: Preachin' to the chickens

"T" ~ aka. Tab, Taba, Princess, or My Darling Gazelle (Hebrew meaning of her name) ~
T is a tap-dancing, artistic equestrian who loves Jesus, and her family. She's obsessed with all things Native American (and loves the fact that she's got Cherokee blood in her, from Dad's side), and horse-related. She looks just like I did as a child, except that she has her Daddy's big brown eyes, and she tans like an Indian. She's inherited both of her parents' artistic bents, and my book-wormish ways and love for writing. I'll often find her lounging in her room writing in one of her journals.
She diligently grooms and works at training our dog. She's fast becoming an accomplished rider, and is in her third year of taking riding lessons. She loves animals and would like to be a large animal veterinarian one day, and "have a ranch and train horses". She says she may have a family and teach her own children one day, but she "mostly wants to be a missionary, and might not even get married". She's extremely giving, and an affectionate encourager. She's also quite industrious~ daily drawing, painting, weaving, crocheting or sewing something for someone. She also enjoys cooking and baking, and has invented a few delicious recipes of her own.
She's quite determined to keep up with her big brother, and usually does. Though she prefers playing rugged and tough, catching frogs and snakes, climbing trees, target-shooting and playing good-guys/bad-guys with the boys, she will also paint her nails with her girlfriends (though she takes it off as soon as she can, ie; they leave or she comes home.*lol*), and loves to "play dress-up". She'll indulge her girl-friends in playing dolls, but would much rather play with her Breyer or Schleich horse collections. She says that one day her room will have "only horse stuff in it, and my dolls will be in the trunk that Daddy's going to make me". On occasion, she will even dawn a dress for the day, or a special outing, and request that her hair be "put up" extravagantly... like a true princess, but usually, she prefers jeans and a t-shirt.
T has also started her own blog, which she writes in every now and then; Samson & Me
