What a sweet photo!

Now that our littlest guy is crawling and pulling up and cruising, we are finding interesting things "dropped at whim" all over. When he starts actually walking it should get really interesting around here. ;)

Please post a follow-up - I'm curious to know what the library does with this book. I've heard that the ALA can be pretty adamant about making sure that this kind of information is provided for patrons, included children.

My heart sunk as I read this post. While I do not have any children I have co-raised my niece who is now 9 and entering 4th grade. When she was a baby my sister and I were adamant that we were going to home school her together.

Sadly my sister now has lost faith in the fact that we can teach her what she needs to know. She feels as a sidetracked home executive (as www.flylady.com referrs to house wives that are easily distracted) she or rather we would fail her. I disagree but in the end have no say in the matter. Needless to say we have run into some heartbreaking situations of a s*xual nature in the school room as well as playground.

I wanted to weep when I read your ordeal at the library. I too love to float along the isles feeling so content amongst the books and love to take my niece along with me as she is a voracious reader.

Thankfully we have deeply instilled in her Christian values and continue to do so. This is a world steeped in wicked ways and it is our job, our God given duty to protect and teach the children so they may honor Him and live their lives in service to Him. It is no easy task. The rewards are great however.

Thank you for this post. I feel your pain and sorrow. These concerns will definitely be in my prayers tonight.

Horse study notebook, huh? That would be something for my nine year old horse lover. She actually chose "the military history of horses" as a study she wanted to do this year. I couldn't find much, so we are doing "how horses have influenced history" instead.

Hi Miss 376,
I think it's great that you've got your boys knitting and stitching.. My son enjoys sewing by hand and sewed his first project, a change purse (in cammo material) when he was 5yo. Last year he sewed a stuffed animal from a pattern. Great skills for boys to have too!

Hey Christine,
Thanks... :)

Hey Birdie,
See? Parallel universes again. ;) hehehe

Hey Jenny,
Yeah, I'd even thought of that Scripture as my mind kept musing after I'd posted, and then thought that surly someone would bring it up in comments, so, thank YOU! How could I have forgotten to include the MOST beautiful knitting analogy evah!
How I love snuggling up with the lovely rainbow blanket you knit for my baby. ;)
You know that I'm still praying for you and your family.
(((hugs)))

Hi Laura,
Thank you for commenting, and for the book recommendation. I'll have to look into this series, and will mention it to the ladies in my knitting circle. It sounds interesting! I checked out your website, love the concept!

Very fun, loved looking into your home school--ours is so eclectic and all over the place that I don't even try to plan. (girls are watching The Secret Garden, the BBC version while son is watching Where on Earth is Carmen San Diego.)

Hi, the way you write about knitting I thought of a book series- I wonder if you have read.
Now ofcourse the name escapes me.. but it's about a single, cancer survivor - who when she finally gets a clean bill of health.. decides to follow her dream and passion and opens a Yarn shop. ( She names it A Good Yarn). But the series is really charming and always has a knitting pattern in the front of each book. The pattern is the pattern that the characters in the book will use.

Anyway.
Just wanted to say Hi- and share some thoughts since you were so kind to share yours.

Sincerely,
Laura
