Happy Birthday!

Published by Beth at 6:24 pm under Daddy-Skool, Thankful, Celebrations, Everyday Stuff, Family

Tomorrow is Chris's birthday, and I am just so thankful that this wonderful man was born 35 years ago, and ended up marrying me. Here I've compiled a few pictures to illustrate what a man of many talents he truly is... so, here's just a few of the many reasons that we love him so.

First and foremost, he is the head of our household. Goofy though he may be, he's as solid as those rocks we're sitting on there.

He is also... eater of the Purple Cow... home of the most economical, yummiest combo meal around, his favorite mom & pop's fast food joint that has become a family tradition.

He's a real menace in a snowball fight...

and on a sled... *ahem* Let's just say that I really sacrificed for this pic, he was closer than he looked through the lens.

He's a full-time fan of his kids (watching T at a horse show)...

and N at his big show...

He loves his chicks...

really... he takes good care of his chicks! ;)

He's the spiritual head of our home... discipling our children in the Way.

He knows how to have a good time...

He's doesn't give up on family.

He makes really fun, cool stuff for his kids...

He tills for me (and looks really cool doing it in his combat boots)...

He bought us this really goofy dog... I always wanted a german shepherd.

He grills in the snow for his kids' birthday parties...

He's not intimidated by big projects...

He's fun to play chess with...

or to just hang around watching t.v. with...

whether the show is really exciting...

or totally boring *yawn*...

Mikey even likes hanging around with on him...

And baby S thinks hanging on him is great fun... he's a great baby-wearin' Daddy.

Chris - 1.jpg

He's a great teacher...

Who finds cool stuff at work to bring home for his kids, and takes the time to notice the woundrous things right in our own front yard...

He rides go-karts...

And feeds the squirrels...

Because he's such a naturalist, and training his kids to be the same...

Chris - 11.jpg

He's not afraid of heights... and it's a good thing.

He reads to his kids every night... starting when they're young.

Chris - 19.jpg

And walks beside them every day...

Chris - 21.jpg

He gives the best bronco rides...

Chris - 15.jpg

and trains our kids in self-defense, starting young...

Chris - 09.jpg

'cause he's a skilled sniper (on ebay that is)...

Chris - 03.jpg

He has a real servant's heart...

Chris - 06.jpg

and a Settlers' passion (you'd have to have played the game to understand)...

Chris - 02.jpg

He's Dad...

Comforter...

My husband and best friend.

Oh, and he gives the best kisses too... ;)

Chris says “Thank you!” to everyone for the well wishes. Tab made his cake this year, ALL BY HERSELF! I was so proud of her, and since the kids both started back at their Upwards basketball practice last night, we’re having it with his b-day dinner tonight.

Well, I’m late with the “Happy Birthday, Chris!” but at least I’m saying it. That was a beautiful tribute to your husband!

    Love and shalom,
