a year of color, week 7: inchworm, aka. lime green
What Is Green?
Green is the grass
And the leaves of trees
Green is the smell
of a country breeze.
Green is lettuce
And sometimes the sea.
When green is a feeling
You pronounce it N.V.
Green is the coolness
You get in the shade
Of the tall old woods
Where the moss is made.
Green is a flutter
That comes in Spring
When frost melts out
Of everything.
Green is a grasshopper
Green is jade
Green is hiding
In the shade---
Green is an olive
And a pickle.
The sound of green
Is a water-trickle.
Green is the world
After the rain
Bathed and beautiful
Again.
April is green
Peppermint, too.
Every elf has
One green shoe.
Under a grape arbor
Air is green
With sprinkles of sunlight
In between.
Green is the meadow,
Green is the fuzz
That covers up
Wher winter was.
Green is ivy and
Honeysuckle vine.
Green is yours
Green is mine....

How gorgeous! I am amazed by your photographic talent. Your web log is a work of art.
Just wanted to tell you how much I’ve been enjoying your “year of colors” posts.
Beth, you have such a talent in this area. I am really, really impressed. Your year of color posts are some of my favorites.
O, thank you so very much sweet friends! I am thrilled that you’re enjoying these posts. I am having way too much fun with them myself!
As always, your photographs are lovely. G-d put so much beauty into the design of His world! It’s very nice of you to share some of that loveliness with us this way. =)
I just love the photography and poetry on your site. How rich with words and the pictures are breathtaking. I see you have a lot of homeschooling sites on the side bar. We’re thinking of starting this journey & it all seems a little overwhelming at times. I was sent here by Kat’s Korner. I’ll be back again. :0)
hi Arielle!
thank you so much!
hi Erna~
Yes, I was terribly overwhelmed when I first dived into homeschooling as well. But I started reading alot when our oldest was a mere 3yo… and we’ve tried a few different things, but always keeping it pretty relaxed and low-key with our children being so young yet.
Welcome to my blog, so glad to *meet* you, and glad you’re enjoying your visit here.
It takes awhile to become familiar with the options/ various methods of teaching, etc. and to find your own niche/skin. Just give yourself time, enjoy your kids, and read together, alot, REAL, living books (see the Charlotte Mason homeschooling links) and ENJOY the journey of learning together, as a family! You will all be so blessed by it. The greatest benefit of homeschooling isn’t even in the academics (that comes naturally, as kids love to learn and are inquisitive), but it’s been in our relationships, the closeness we have/share as a family. T-I-M-E together.
May the Lord guide and bless you and your family as you look into this wonderful option! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Loved hearing from you.
